An interactive augmented reality mural installed at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Visitors scan the physical mural with their phones to unlock a layered AR experience — animations, stories, and community voices embedded within the artwork itself.
The Challenge
Public art installations often feel static and one-directional. The brief was to create something that invited participation, reflected the local community, and demonstrated how technology could deepen the relationship between art and audience.
Our Approach
We designed a large-format mural that worked as both a standalone artwork and an AR anchor. The augmented layer unlocked narrative animations, community stories, and interactive elements — all triggered natively through the phone camera without requiring an app download.
The Outcome
The mural received recognition as an award-winning installation at one of Arizona's premier sports venues, praised for its seamless integration of community storytelling and immersive technology.
